Honest Water is a water treatment company based in Keswick, Ontario. This page explains how we handle the personal information you give us through this website. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). This page is a plain description of what we do, not legal advice.
Who collects your information

What we collect
When you send the booking or contact form: your name, phone number, town, water source, household size, number of bathrooms, what bugs you about your water, and any message you write. The form also records the page you sent the form from and, if you arrived from an ad, the campaign name.
When you buy online: checkout runs on Stripe. Stripe collects your name, email, phone number, billing address and payment details. If you choose Klarna financing, Klarna collects the details it needs to offer and run that plan. We see your name, contact details, billing address and what you bought. We do not see or store your full card number.
When you call, text or email us: your number or address and whatever you tell us.
Why we use it
- To reply to you and answer your question.
- To quote a softener or a treatment system and to schedule a water test or an install.
- To deliver equipment and to install it.
- To take payment.
- To keep the sales and tax records the law requires.
We do not sell your personal information.
Who helps us handle it
We use a few outside services to run the site and the business. Each one handles your information only to do its job for us. Some of them store data outside Canada, for example in the United States, where it can be subject to the laws of that country.
- FormSubmit relays the booking and contact form to our inbox.
- Stripe processes online payments.
- Klarna runs financing if you choose it at checkout.
- Google Workspace hosts our email.
- Google Fonts serves the fonts on this site, so your browser asks Google for them when a page loads.
- Cloudflare hosts the website and delivers its pages.
Cookies and tracking
This site does not use advertising or analytics tracking cookies at this time. Stripe and Klarna may use cookies on their own checkout pages to process payment and prevent fraud. If we add analytics to this site, we will update this page first to say what is collected and why.
How long we keep it
We keep your information as long as we need it to serve you, and as long as the Canada Revenue Agency requires us to keep business records. For sales records that is generally six years.
Seeing or correcting your information
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw consent for anything beyond what the law requires us to keep. Email info@honestwater.ca and we will reply. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

If what we collect or who handles it changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
